The firm of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home was founded in 1948 by Marquis Dotson, Sr. with assistance and encouragement of his father Walter E. Dotson. Marquis Dotson Sr. was born in the rural area of McMinn County, Tennessee. While his siblings left home to pursue other interest, Marquis saw the need to remain in McMinn County to take care of his families farming output which was their means of support. As more families came into the area, there became an urgent need to care for families and their loved ones. Today M.D. Dotson & Sons services families from two locations of Cleveland and Athens, TN. M.D. Dotson & Sons is proud to serve the entire East Tennessee area.
