William Thompson

William Henry “Lawyer” Thompson, age 65 passed Friday, April 16, 2021 at his residence in Cleveland, TN. William was born in the Georgetown, TN. community, to the late August ‘Bus’ Thompson, and Rosa Cook Thompson, and worked for many years as a logger with Winton Logging Company.

He is preceded in death also by his brothers and sisters, James Thompson, Steve Thompson, Edna Thompson, Joe Lewis Thompson, Margaret Westfield, Ella Mae Latham, Marcie (Robert) Newton, and Johnny Thompson. Special niece, Phyllis(Ralph)Winton, nephews, Kevin Winton and Cecil Thompson.

Survivors includes two brothers, Thomas (Wanda) Thompson of Georgetown, TN., and Calvin Thompson of Athens, TN. Two sisters, Mary Winton of Athens, TN., and Teresa (Sherman) Huff of Fayetteville, NC. Special nieces, Kelley (Morrow) Mack of Athens, TN., and Robin (Freddie) Fletcher of Cleveland, TN. Special nephew, Michael Thompson. Fiancée’ Linda Benton of Cleveland, TN. Special family, Jessica Harper, Kenny Benton, and Shahara Smith. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside services will be held Monday, April 26, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Elmo Cemetery in Georgetown, TN. with pastor Rev. Floyd Davis officiating.

In compliance with COVID-19 social distancing will be observed and face mask are required. There will be a walk- through visitation also on Monday at M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home- Cleveland, TN from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
