Williams T. Bacon- age 89, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN died Saturday May13, 2017 in a local Cleveland, Tn. health care facility. He was a member of Price Memorial Church. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a 2nd Class Petty Officer, making seven military tours across the pacific, including places like Guam, the North Pole and even duty at the United States Naval Academy. He also served his country during the Korean War. He returned to the state and worked Bell South for 30 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Bacon Sr. and Grover Gladys Howie Bacon, his wife Doris Bacon, four brothers, James Bacon, John Henry Bacon Jr., George Bacon, Paul Lawrence Bacon, two sisters, Josephine Billingsley, and Peggy Grime.
Survivors include one daughter, Deborah Blair of Cleveland, TN. Two grandchildren, Theron Blair, and DeAnna Blair-Brooks both of Cleveland, TN and three great-grandchildren De’Angelo Blair, Jasia Brooks, and Jasen Brooks Jr. Two sisters, Charlene Snell and Pauline Smith both of Cleveland, TN. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Alfred Johnson delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honor guard. The family will receive friends one hour before the service on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
