William "Ladybug" Blair

William Howard Blair ‘LadyBug’ age 63 passed November 30, 2017. He was a 1973 graduate of Cleveland High School, where he was an all around athlete playing football and basketball. In his early years he was a stand-out baseball player at the Boys Club, and in later years he perfected his athletic talents and was widely known in the community with the Cleveland All Stars softball and baseball league.
He was an employee of the city of Cleveland at the Northeast Recreation Center,(School House) where he mentored youth through the years. He was also employed at
Hy-Standard for many years, and was currently employed by Universal Assembly in Cleveland, TN.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester McMahan and Bertha Mae Blair, brother, Kenneth Blair, and sister Danisha McMahan.

Survivors include his life partner Melissa Maureen Cash, his children, Vonda (Harold) Douglas, Anne (Jason) Person, Ricky Deon (Christie) McCleary, Stepfon Woods, Desiree Blair, and William H. Blair Jr. all of Cleveland, TN. Grandchildren, Shun Qualls, Tre’Var Moore, LeyAsia Woods, Kiara Brewer, Romeo Wykle, Ricky McCleary Jr., Ky’Sean Jackson, Maliyah Woods, Kami McCleary, Kody McCleary, and Layla Faye Woods.
Brothers and sisters, Shirley Ann Blair of Cleveland, TN, Todd McMahan, Ricky McMahan and Anthony McMahan all of Lance, MI, Daria McMahan of Madison, WI, and Lestra Brown of Indianapolis, IN. Special aunt, Willa Dean (Vernon) Williams of Cleveland, TN, and special niece Janice ‘Cricket’ Blair and dear friend Paul Davis. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, classmates, and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 3:00 pm. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Inman and East Street with Pastor Martha Tibbs officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church from 2:00 pm. until 3:00 pm. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Cemetery.
