William George Clark, “WG” age 77 a resident of Athens, passed Friday May 15, 2020 in a local health care facility.

He worked many years as a machinist but was widely known as owner and operator of Liberty Pawn Shop & Trading Post.

He had great spirit for people and enjoyed being with his family. He enjoyed golf basketball, football and listening to music. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charles Clark and Gladys Ruth Yarberry, daughter Shellie Clark, and brother James Charles Clark.

Survivors include, his children, Emory Clark, Richard Clark, Chelsey Clark, Lisa Moore, Wes Dodson, Billy Clark. Companion and dear friend Brenda Shephard Woods of Athens, TN.  Sisters, Mary Woods, and Joan Jones, and one aunt, Ella Rae Melton, of Niota, TN. Eight grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Special cousin Dennis Small.

The body will lie in state and a private service will follow to be held Wednesday,  May 20, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral – Athens, TN. Interment will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
