Wesley "Allen" Benton was a joyous person full of life. His passing came unexpectedly on Saturday, June 24th, 2023, at the age of 54. He leaves to mourn loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy through happy memories. Wesley ensured he lived a loving, caring life with a heart of gold. Wesley will forever remain with us in spirit through the memories, lessons, and values he leaves behind.

Wesley was born to Deborah Anderson and Robert Benton II in Buffalo, New York. He attended McKinley High School and graduated in 1988. Wesley was well-rounded in sports and excelled in New York State Regional sports, earning him numerous accolades and scholarships. Unfortunately, he then succumbed to a knee injury which changed his career of playing professional basketball. Wesley served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge.

He was well known to be the life of the party. In 1995 He moved to Tennessee to be closer to his father and brother. Wes was a team player in sports, hobbies, and employment.

Wesley met the love of his life 16 years ago, and they married in 2014. The two were inseparable and loved spending quality time with their family and children.

Wesley was preceded in death by the loving memory of his parents, Deborah Anderson, Robert Benton II.

He is survived by His loving wife, Mandy Benton, and his children Wesley Benton II, William Benton, Wyatt Benton, Destiny Johnson, Miranda Coleman, Xavier Coleman. Grandchildren Chloa Hilts, and Wesley Hilts. His stepmother, Linda Benton, siblings are Barbara Benton, Robert Benton (TyShieka Benton), Jessica Harper, and Kenny Benton Aunts and uncles Zandra, Marcia, Keith, Johnnie, and Anthony (Tony). Cousins Erika, Chondra, and a host of loving uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 3, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home – Athens, TN., with Rev. Larry W. Saunders officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home from12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m.
