Vivian Thompson

Mrs. Vivian T. Thompson age 82 of Cleveland, TN, passed Saturday May 5, 2018 at her residence. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN, where she served in the choir, and the women’s club. She was employed by C.M. Hardwick for forty-five years, and was a graduate of Howard High School in Chattanooga, TN.

She is preceded in death by her husband Thedfore Thompson, her parents, Pleas H. and Fannie Talley, two sisters, Mary Wells, and Gladys Anthony, four brothers, Robert Talley, Pleas Talley, Eugene Talley, and Ronald Talley.

Survivors include one son, Melvin D. (Gwendolyn) Thompson of Chattanooga, TN., one daughter, Angela D. Thompson of Cleveland, TN., three sisters, Louise Thompson of Cleveland, TN., Andrea Wright and Edna Talley both of Chattanooga, TN. Three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Brenda Talley, and Dorothy Talley Mays both of Chattanooga, TN. A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with pastor Rev. Edward S. Robinson Sr. delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation by friends will begin after 2:00 p.m on Wednesday at the funeral home.
