Tracy Taylor Smith

Tracey Joylene Taylor- Smith, 55, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023, in a local hospital surrounded by her family.

Tracey was born September 17, 1968, to Helen Loretta Taylor and the late James T. Rouser.  She was a graduate of the Cleveland High School class of 1987. Tracey was a devoted member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church who enjoyed participating in Vacation Bible Schol and supporting youth activities within the Church.  Tracey enjoyed traveling, cooking, and spoiling her grandkids, who affectionately called her “Nana Tracey.”

Cleveland was always “home” to Tracey, but she was never afraid to move away and experience a new state. In her short time on earth, she’d lived in Ohio, Illinois, Minnesota, South Carolina, and New York.  Finally returning to her roots in Cleveland, Tennessee.

In addition to her father, Tracey was preceded in death by her stepmother, Odessa Rouser; maternal grandparents, Thelmer and Louise Finley; and brothers, Wilbur James Taylor, Jr, Corey Taylor, Ray Taylor and Christopher Taylor.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Dalopheal Taylor and Yasheta Taylor; grandchildren, Kassiah Taylor, Jada Davis, Zhane Taylor and Tre’Vion Taylor; her loving mother, Helen L. Bowerman; her brothers, Andy (Natacha) Hudgins, Reagon (Nicole) Hudgins, Roy (Gabriella) Taylor, and James Rouser; her sisters, Phyllis (Erwin) Hickey, Ramona Brown, Monona Brown, Hiawatha Brown, Mary Moore, Tina (Mike) McDermott, and Felicia Rouser; bonus daughter, Shera Hardy; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church , Cleveland, TN with pastor Rev. Edward S. Robinson Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
