Sarah Louise Scruggs-Johnson age 52, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday June 11, 2022 at Starr Regional Medical Center. She was a graduate of McMinn County High School, Class of 1989 and was employed at Wendys for 22 years serving as crew leader for years before retiring early. Sarah will be remembered for her pleasant smile, sweet, caring disposition, and the love she had for her family and many others. She loved to laugh, lend a helping hand or be a friend to listen and just talk.

Sarah was the daughter of the late Robert L. Scruggs and Charlene Armstrong Scruggs. She was also preceded in death by one infant brother Robert A. Scruggs and infant sister Maryann Scruggs, and  sister Carol S. Scruggs. Paternal grandparents Ross C. Scruggs and Sallie M. Neil Scruggs. Maternal grandparents Charlie and Donnie M. Simpson Armstrong.

Sarah Louise left many to cherish her memory including her husband Craig A. Johnson, and son Julius S. Fletcher both of Athens, TN. Two grandchildren, Avyian Abbott and Khalil Diakite. One sister Deborah Scruggs-Moore of Athens, TN. Step-children Brittany J. Barron, Kristen Johnson and Isaiah. Mother-in-law, Glenna (Gene) Billups. Nieces Nala N. Scruggs of Baltimore, MD.,and Whitney D. Scruggs of Athens, TN., Great niece Trinity Wallace of Baltimore, MD., nephews Robert T. Scruggs and Tyheim Scruggs both of Athens, TN. Great nephews Aaron and Chase Hall of Baltimore, MD. Aunts, Betty A. Scruggs, Marylyn S. Smith and Louise Scruggs, all of Athens, TN. Alice M. Scruggs of Sweetwater, Mary Douglas, Rosa Colbert, Christine Lowery and Louise Cardin all of Etowah, TN. Virginia Wynn of Knoxville, TN. Sarah left behind a host of cousins, friends, and family. Sarah will be missed by everyone who knew her. She was our angel right here on earth.

Visitation will be Friday June 24, 2022 at 12 noon in the chapel of M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home & Cremation Service- Athens, with the funeral service to immediately follow beginning at 1 p.m. with Reverend Wayne Williams and Reverend Vant Hardaway officiating. Interment will conclude at Hammonds Cemetery Athens, TN.
