Ruby Mae Free age 70 of Athens, TN passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023, in a local Cleveland, TN hospital.
She was a graduate of McMinn County High School. She loved gardening and flowers, and the arts.
She is preceded in death by her father Clarence Eaton and mother Elizabeth Eaton, brothers, Wayne Eaton, and Steve Eaton, sister Diane Eaton and grandson Dakota Benton.
Survivors include one daughter, Tamela Felix of Athens, TN, and son Doug Borden of Etowah, TN. Two brothers, Eddie(Linda) Eaton of Athens, TN, and Charlie Eaton of Sweetwater, TN. Five grandchildren, Darecio Borden of Knoxville, TN, and Dreux Borden of Etowah, TN., Lovely Felix, Latoya Felix, and L’Dareus Felix all of Athens, TN. Two special friends, Danita Humes of Cleveland, TN, Diane Robinson of Athens, TN, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Saunders officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
