Rosalee Armstrong

ROSALEE DOUGLAS ARMSTRONG, Age 90 transitioned to her heavenly home on Saturday evening, June 23, 2018 at Life Care Center of Athens. She joins her beloved husband, Joseph (Bojack) Armstrong who passed on before her on April 24, 2018. Rosalee and Joseph celebrated 73 years of marriage on October 24, 2017.

Rosalee was the daughter of the late Joseph and Geneva (King) Douglas. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Christopher (Sonny Boy) Douglas and William (Bill) and wife Rosalee Douglas; Sisters-in-law, Annie M. Boyd (George), Charlene (Robert) Scruggs, and Elizabeth Moss.

Rosalee was a member of Star Bethel Baptist Church of Etowah, TN. She was a former employee of Etowah Industries and worked at the Roy’s Restaurant in Etowah as a cook during her earlier years. She was the last member of the Mount Olive Choir that sang for many years at Mount Olive AME Zion Church in Etowah.

She is survived by sisters-in-law, Louise Carden, Mary Nell Douglas, Rosalee Colbert, Christine Lowary and brother-in-law, Billy Moss, Sr., Antwan Kennedy whom they raised as their son and his daughters Tamia and Naomi Kennedy, her faithful caring and loving niece/caregiver, Mary Frances Williams, special cousin Wanda (Allen) McCroskey all of Etowah; nephews John (Ann) Boyd of Riceville, Alan Armstrong of Etowah and Jan (Audrey) Armstrong of Cleveland, nieces Donna Douglas of Etowah and Genelle (Shawn) Bazel of Stockbridge, GA, along with and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 1 pm at M.D.Dotson and Sons Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Athens, TN, with Rev. James Parris delivering the eulogy and Rev. Joe Moore officiating. The family will receive friends at 12 pm prior to the services. Visitation by friends will begin after 12 pm on Thursday, at the funeral home.
