Robert Lawrence Versa Jr., 62, went to heaven on Thursday, January 10 th , 2019.
He was a graduate of McMinn High School class of 1974. Where he played football was on the wrestling team. and track team. He attended North Alabama University on a football scholarship and he also attended Tennessee Tech University. He was the former owner of Quintin’s Café and Bakery Downtown, Athens, TN, and also located at the Sweetwater Hotel and Bowater Cafeteria., and was the life guard at Cook Pool where he taught many children how to swim.
He was a lover and worshiper of God’s word joining Mount Pleasant as a child , than Over Coming Faith Christian Center and later in life, he and his wife and family joined Church Alive Ministries in Cleveland Tn where he served as a board member and elder of the church.
He is preceded in death by parents Robert Lawrence Versa Sr. & Sarah Ellen Love-Versa, sister Cassandra Darlene Versa of Knoxville Tn, brother Michael Lee Versa of Athens, Tn & sister Maxine Bean of Detroit, MI
Survived by wife of 44 years Gloria Versa of Cleveland Tn, son Jubreel Versa (Pasha) of Nashville Tn, daughters Natosha & Shuderra Versa of Cleveland Tn. Two grandsons Quintin Versa of Athens, Tn & Miles Versa of Nashville Tn, nephew Robert Dushawn Versa (Jennifer), Javon & Marlee Grace of Knoxville Tn, nieces Racquel Nails, Destiny Ingram & nephew Hosea Bean Jr. of Detroit, MI. Also survived by a host of family & friends.
Family will receive friends on Sunday January 13, 2019 at 12 noon until 6 p.m. in the chapel of M.D.Dotson & Sons Funeral Home -Athens.
Celebration of Life services will be held Monday, January 14, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Church Alive Ministries 6315 Mouse Creek Rd Cleveland Tn with Pastor Bob Malone delivering words of encouragement.
