Robert Lattimore age 88 a resident of Etowah, TN died Sunday morning May 21, 2017 in a local Athens, TN.  medical care facility. He was born in Charleston TN August 21, 1928 to Joe and Victoria Lattimore who preceded him in death. As a boy, he attended Highpoint Elementary school and later College Hill High School. As a young man, he served in the United States Army. He also fell in love with and was married to Gladys McCroskey Lattimore who preceded him in death.

He retired from Bowater where he worked most of his adult life. He truly loved the Lord and was a member of Star Bethel Baptist church where he taught Sunday school for many years. He was an avid reader of the word of God and loved books. He enjoyed playing the guitar.  Uncle Bob, as he was affectionately known by his nieces and nephews loved to make gardens and often bragged about how beautiful and bountiful they were.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his brothers J.L., Hubert, Felix, Henry, Arthur, Eddie and Jim Lattimore.

He is survived by two sisters, Willie Lou Boaz and Beulah Mae McCleary (Fredrick) both of Charleston TN, special friend Linda Cate of Etowah TN, special nephew Ray McCroskey (Wanda) of Etowah TN, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and many close and loving friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Starr Bethel Baptist Church in Etowah, TN. with pastor Rev. James Parris officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery Etowah, TN .
