Raymond Mcdermott

Raymond Daniel McDermott age 55 of Niota, TN died March 5, 2018. He was the son of the late Charles Ray Smith Sr. and Magnolia McDermott. He was employed at Brown Stove works in Cleveland, TN.
He is preceded in death also by his brothers, Tommy Brown, and Robert McDermott, and sisters, Angela Pitner and Denise McDermott.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Tonya R. McDermott, Niota, TN. Three daughters, Cieara McDermott and Sharelle McDermott both of Cleveland, TN, and Kali Simmons of Savannah, Ga. One son Quantel Lindsey of Ooltewah, TN. Nine grandchildren. Three sisters, Alma Brown of Charleston, TN, Linda Morris of Johnson City, TN and Anna Broomfield(Ramsey) of Chattanooga, TN. Four brothers, Charles R. Smith Jr. Paul L Smith, Jeffrey(Carla) Pitner, and Michael (Tina) McDermott all of Cleveland, TN. Mother-in-law, Mattie Grace Smith of Athens, TN.
Sisters-in-law, Sharon Bradley, Rebecca Moore, and Ester Moore all of Athens, TN. Brother-in-law, Clinton R. Moore of Niota, TN. Aunts, and uncles, Cora L. Moore of Niota, TN, Geneva Smith of Sweetwater, Tn, Joyce Brown of Cleveland, TN and Alberta Hover(William) of Cleveland, TN Lewis Bradley of Athens, TN, and special uncle Robert ( Peggy) Johnson of Cleveland, TN. A host of nieces, nephews, special niece Kamesia (Blue) Sharp, special nephew Ryan Brown, many cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home- Athens, Tn with minister Quantal Lindsey delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hammond Cemetery in Athens, TN.
