Mitchell McCowan age 65 passed Thursday, March 24, 2022 in Niota, TN. He was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. He loved attending church, spending time with his daughters, and fishing. If it was a beautiful day, you would find him sitting on the bank with his fishing pole.
He is preceded in death by his parents Gladys McCowan and William Eugene McCowan. Brother, Felix Finley. Grandparents Zelma and Thomas Dickerson and the late Harlan and Cordelia McCowan.
Survivors include his two children, Priscilla McCowan Duenkel (Eric) and Lindsey McCowan. Sister, Abbie McCowan and brothers Calvin McCowan and Albert McCowan. Aunts Zella Mae Smith and Ethel Mae Lenior. Uncles Lewis McCowan and James McCowan. Two grand dogs Koda and Axel Duenkel. Special Friends Pamala McCowan, Sandra Rogers, Hawk Shields, and a host of other friends who meant so much to him.
Funeral Services will be March 28, 2022 at 1:00pm in the Chapel of M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home-Athens, TN with Richard Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Valley Memorial Park in Sweetwater, TN.
In observance of COVID-19 there will be a walk-through visitation at the funeral home from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on March 28 th , 2022 at M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home- Athens, TN.
