Melvin Crawford

Melvin William Wilkerson-Crawford ‘Klondike’ was born on September 25, 1963 in Harriman, TN. He lived in Knoxville, TN, where he passed away on September 11, 2021. He attended McMinn High School, and was employed for sometime at Niota Golf Course. He was preceded in death by his mother Imerjean Wilkerson and father L.C. Crawford, daughter, Pauline Jalise Goldston, brothers, Hollis Jr. Wilkerson, Lawrence Lee Wilkerson, and uncle Carl E. Wilkerson.

Survivors include one daughter Whitney Nichol Wilkerson of Niota, TN., sisters, Stella Redd of Knoxville, TN., Rachel Wilkerson of Chattanooga, TN., and Tracy Wilkerson of Athens, TN., brothers, Stanley Phillip (Diane)Wilkerson of Athens, TN., Steven(Regina)Wilkerson of Riceville, TN., and Alvin (Bruce) Wilkerson of Athens, TN., and Marvin Wilkerson of Etowah, TN., and close personal friend Jennifer H. Reed of Knoxville, TN., and stepfather Moses Drummond of Kingston, TN., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home- Athens, TN., with Rev. Kevin Harris officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. In compliance with COVID the family request that mask be worn and social distancing be observed.
