Mary Brown

Mary Francis ‘Dean’ Harrison Brown went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 29, 2022. She attended Mt. Olive A.M.E. Zion Church in Etowah, TN. She was employed for many years as a domestic manager for several families in Etowah, TN., and was employed also at a sewing factory in Etowah, TN.

She enjoyed working on puzzles, planting flowers, and her evening walks with her late sister Rose Douglas.

She is preceded in death by her parents Roosevelt and Alberta Harrison, brothers Berlee Harrison, James Harrison, Frank Harrison, Scott Harrison, and Raymond Harrison, and Johnny Harrison. Sisters, Cora Harrison, Rosa Douglas, Betty Harrison, Drucilla Jackson, and nephew Troy Harrison.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory,  a devoted sister Gloria Hammonds, special sister-niece Sandra Harrison, devoted niece Quanda Harrison and great-niece Kyria Harrison. Many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, cousins, and special friends, Jenny Crumbly of Athens, TN., and Ms. McCleary of Etowah, TN.

The Homegoing celebration will be Thursday, February 3, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home – Athens, TN., with Rev. Benjamin Jackson officiating. Interment will follow the service at New Zion Cemetery in Etowah, TN. There will be a walk-through visitation from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to service at the funeral home and everyone is asked to be in observance of COVID-19 guidelines of social distancing and wearing a mask.
