Martha Ann Crawford age 82 of Georgetown, TN died Sunday, April 7, 2019 in a local healthcare facility. She was a member of St. Elmo United Methodist Church, where she served in many capacities, from working on the kitchen committee, to building and grounds mai ntenance, on the finance committee and being key to the overall operations of the church.

She was a retired employee Duracell in Cleveland, TN, and a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Chattanooga, TN.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Augustus Crawford, and parents Ray Swafford and Marie Thompson Swafford Massengill, her sisters, Rosa Mae Barrett, Emma Lee Lenior, Charlotte Glenn, Drusilla Goode, brothers, Robert Swafford, Charles Massengill and Andrew “AJ” Massengill.

Survivors include, son Orlando Jerome (Delia) Crawford of Cleveland, TN and one grand daughter Delisha Blair Crawford of Nashville, TN. Two sisters, Betty ( Freddy) Pitner, and Gwen ( Rev. Robert) Pitner all of Cleveland, TN. Three brothers, Lebron (Sandra) Massengill of Ooltewah, TN, Arthur (Eula) Massengill of Chattanooga, TN., Thomas (Nancy) Massengill of Georgetown, TN.  Special friends, Betty Person, Nancy Wooden, Tom Thompson, Grace Swafford, the Nathan Myers family and the staff of Rose of Sharon, Bobbie McDaniel, Theresa Hudgins, Teresa Bivens, Meme Cooper, Shirley Nelson, Toney Davis, Yvette Sublett, Nette Chambler, Faye Miree, and Sharon Kelley. Many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Edward S. Robinson Sr. officiating.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home Cleveland, TN.
