Marland Simpson

Marland Damon Simpson, 48, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.

He was loved by family and many friends. He loved to barbecue for his family and friends. Also, he enjoyed doing carpentry work in the local communities for friends and family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Mae Simpson, grandparents Robert Timothy & Clemmie McCowan and the late Jake & Willie Simpson.

Loving memories will be cherished by his family: his father, Jimmy Simpson of Athens, TN. Six children Joshua (Ramie) Simpson, Dorian Simpson, Queston Simpson, Shylon Simpson, Angela (Jason) Diaz, and Lydia Danielle (Dekota) Grant; Two sisters Tabatha (Troy) McDermott, Shytanna (Chalmer) McDermott and six grandchildren. Two devoted nephews Trace & Tevin  and three devoted nieces Yanessa Simpson, Monique Simpson, & Kameron (Albert) Watkins. Special devoted friends were Dexter Morris, Brently Mayotte, Keith (Connie) Crenshaw, and Candy Rogers. He “loved” his many aunts, uncles, a host of cousins and dear friends.

Funeral services will be Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home- Athens, TN., with Pastor Harold McCowan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. . Interment will follow the service at Moore Cemetery in Niota, TN.
