Marion Harrison Whaley was born on October 19, 1936 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  She was the eldest of five children of the late Gonzalee Harrison and Nathalie Robinson Harrison.

Marion was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System.  After high school she worked for Sterns Department Store until they went out of business.  When the LORD gave her an opportunity to work for New York Telephone Company, she accepted.  After two years she transferred to Bell of Pennsylvania and retired after 31 years.

Marion joined East Bethel Baptist Church in Philadelphia as a teenager and was baptized.  She was born again at First Nazarene Baptist Church in Camden, New Jersey under the pastorate of Pastor John A. Jones.  She relocated to Suwanee, Georgia and joined Friendship Baptist Church under Pastor Ronald L. Bowens.

Marion was proceeded in death by her siblings Gonzalee Harrison, Jr., Evelyn Holmes and Richard Harrison, her son Michael Whaley and her daughter Yvette Anderson.

Marion went home to be with the LORD on February 14, 2022.  She is survived by a sister Gloria Ann Smith, two children DL Whaley and Gilbert Whaley (Gwendolyn) and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, two loyal friends for over 30 years, Gilda Colder and Marcella Lewis, numerous relatives and friends. Her love and support for her loved ones was unwavering and her smile and enthusiasm never faltered. Heaven is brighter today as God has called his faithful servant home.

Homegoing celebration services for Marion Whaley will be Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home 165 Lang Street NE Cleveland, TN. , with Rev. Ronald L. Bowen officiating. The family will receive friends thirty minutes before the service from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
