Margaret A. Smith

Margaret Ann Smith , age 82, passed Friday, October 23, 2020 in a local health care facility in Athens, TN.

Margaret was a lifelong member of Mt. Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church. She loved her church and was the Mother of the church. She also served on the women’s committee and other organizations of the church and in any other capacity where she was needed. She was a faithful member of the Sunday School class.

She was preceded in death by a son Thomas Brown, her mother Lizzie Mae Brown, father, William A. Brown, brothers, George, James, Howard, Walter, William and Robert Brown. Sisters, Willie Lee Brown, Teresa Bridger, and Alberta Stevenson.

Survivors include her daughter, Sammie Jean Ramsey, grandson, Thomas Blair, sisters, Dorothy Huskins, and Lorraine Hassler of Indianapolis, Indiana, Betty (Calvin) Thompson, and Donnie Rogers of Calhoun, TN., and Mary Massengill of Cleveland, TN. Brothers, Paul Brown, and Charles Brown of Calhoun, TN., David Brown of Cleveland, TN., and Roy Brown of Indianapolis, Indiana, three sisters-in-law, Josephine Brown, Joyce Brown and Lucille Massengill. Special nephew, Dan Brown of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Funeral services will be Thursday, 2:00 p.m., October 29, 2020 in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home, Chapel Cleveland, TN., with Pastor Rev. George H. Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Calhoun, TN. There will be a walk- through visitation from 12:00 noon until 2:00p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
