Marcus E. Williams age 73 passed at his home in Charleston, TN., on Monday, November 9, 2020. He loved music and cars, and most of all his family. His favor saying was “bingo” or “case closed”. He served his country in the United States army during the Vietnam War. He was later employed with Wesley United Methodist Church as their custodian until his health begin to decline.
He is preceded in death by his parents William Issac Jones and Nora Mae Williams, sister Gladys Townes, five brothers, Rayburn Williams, Richard Jones, George Jones, William Henry Jones, and Gerald Marlowe Jones, uncles and aunts, Thurman Williams, John Williams, Lee Williams, Vernon Williams, Carzaelle Brown, Lillian Hall, and Kathleen Lodge.
Survivors include, his wife, Dorothy Louise Williams of Cleveland, TN., brother, James Jones(Bennie Mae) of Albany, Ga., five sisters, Garcia Marvorneen Davis, Marcia Williams, Marlene Doretta Aikens, Gisele(Michael) Dodd, and Shelvia Marcelle Jones. Two aunts, Dana Hurst of Buffalo, NY, and Dean Williams of Cleveland, TN. Seventeen nephews, and five nieces, special niece, Josephine Brown. Sister-in-law, Bobby Sue Kemp, special friends, Jeff and Tom Brown, Donnie Harris, and Phyllis Swafford, many cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home with Elder Robert Pitner delivering the eulogy. There will be a walk through visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
