Marcus Eugene King, age 55, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Athens Regional Hospital. He was a native of Athens, Tn and a graduate of McMinn County High School. He never met a stranger and loved to aggravate and argue about anything. He loved hard, played hard and would do anything for anybody.
He is proceeded in death by his father Jackie Gene King, Uncle James King, Uncle Jay Thomas, sister Naritha Gail King and brother Brandon Scott King and nephew Octavius VaShon Hughes.
He leaves to cherish his memory, son Malik Ziare King, Clearwater, FL, mother Imogene King, sister, Fonda Hughes both of Athens, Tn, Great Aunt Ruth Malone of Athens, Tn, wife Tandy King of Decatur, Tn, Aunts: Gwendolyn Bennett of Grand Rapids Michigan, and Charlesetta (Kenneth) McDermott of Athens, Tn, Uncles: Joseph Thomas of Phoenix, Az, John (Helen) Bailey, Clifford Bailey, and Rick King of Athens, Tn, Terry (Faye) Long of Harvest, Al and William Bailey of Clarksville, Tn and Nieces: ChyAnna Ferguson and Hilary Arnold of Killeen, Tx, Shaniah McClendon of Athens, Tn. Two Nephews: Dathan (DJ) King and Antwann Rhodes of Athens, Tn, Great Nieces: Raziyah Buchanan of Killeen, Tx and Lily King of Athens, Tn and a host of cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home – Athens, TN.
