Malcolm Ray Davis, age 62, transitioned this life at his residence in Athens, TN.  He was the son of the late Thomas Sr. and Mary Frances Walker Davis.  He is preceded in death by brothers, William Walker and Thomas Davis, Jr., nephew, P. J. Gardner.

Malcolm Enjoyed life starting with his early years as a farmer, to being a cook at home and employee at Herman’s Soul Food Restaurant located in Chattanooga, TN. He loved to eat as much as he loved to cook according to his sisters! Malcolm loved his family, especially fun times with his nieces and nephews.  Let’s not leave out his passion for The University of Tennessee Vols Football Team. He was known as a very quiet spirited person liked by everyone he came in contact with , only to share that same feeling in return.  Most of all, Malcolm loved the Lord and his church family.

Survivors include , s isters, Delores Hill and Emma Hines (both of Chattanooga, TN); Jackie Gardner (Warner Roberts, GA); Frances Arnwine (Athens, TN); Gail (George) Jones (Hampton, VA); Brother, Freddie Davis (Tallahassee, FL); Special nieces, Courtney Walls (Warner Roberts, GA); Stacey Hill (Chattanooga, TN); Special friends, W. R. Prigmore , Sr., Ken Davis and Carey Hicks; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 1,2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Niota, TN with Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Park City Cemetery in Madisonville, TN.
