Lowell Woods

Lowell Bradford Woods age 69 born February 12, 1955, departed this life on February 18, 2024 in Georgetown, Tennessee.

He was a member of Saint James Cumberland Presbyterian Church and he also enjoyed visiting many other churches and speaking with pastors. He retired from Olin Chemicals and was well-known as one of the best roofing contractors around. He started his own business as a salesman and followed his father’s direction, to be honest.

Lowell was friendly to everyone and he knew how to make you laugh. He never met a stranger. He was proud of his military service in the United States Army where he was a boxer. He was a fan of the TV show Gunsmoke. Lowell also enjoyed visiting family and friends and he will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard A. & Lillie B. Woods Sr., brothers, Leonard Lee Woods, Marvin Taft Woods and Leonard A. Woods Jr., nieces, Roselyn R. Runyons, and nephew Spencer L. Woods.

He leaves to cherish his memories his sisters, Shirley Runyons of Cleveland, TN., Sylvia Woods, and Sandra Westfield of Georgetown, TN. and Jackie Woods of Smyrna, Ga. Brothers, Milton E. (Francine) Woods of Lexington, KY, and Floyd Woods of Georgetown, TN. Uncles, Booker T. (Elizabeth) Woods, Howard, (Estella) Woods, and Chancel Woods all of Georgetown, TN. Special friend and nephew Marvin Woods, and many friends, neighbors and acquaintances.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Home going services will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home – Cleveland, TN with Bishop Dr. G.R. Hill officiating and Rev. Rodney Dunn delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends on Saturday one hour before the service at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Internment will follow the service at Woods Family Cemetery.
