Lela Karen Caldwell, 67, of Blue Springs, Missouri, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 13, 2022. She was the eighth of eight children born to Charles and Juanita “Big Momma” Caldwell. She attended JL Cook School and graduated McMinn County High School, Athens, Tennessee.
Karen “Poopie” is survived by three siblings; Gary Travis (Beverly), Donna Gail (Sam), and Terrance Evans (Sally) Caldwell. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Jean Ann, Charles Lewis, Jimmy Clayvon, and Cynthia Janise Caldwell. She leaves behind a large extended Tennessee and Missouri Family. Although she had no biological children, she helped raise her oldest nieces and nephews, Rosalind Eugenia Santee, Annuanita Gail Montgomery, and Howard Henderson Lane, Jr.
She worked for Case International Harvesters (JI Case) more than 20 years. After Case, she joined Walmart where she retired in 2019 with 15 years of service.
Everywhere Poopie went she found a Friend. She loved sports, especially the Tennessee Vols and Kansas City Chiefs. If it was purple, she had to have it. Her paintings were beautiful just like her heart. Motorcycles, casinos, horse racing, and gardening were a few of her favorite past times. She enjoyed music, dancing, food, and a great concert.
