Kaye Laverne Smith ‘GiGi’, age 80 of Cleveland, TN was called home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ Sunday morning July 12, 2020. She was born in Hendersonville, NC to the late Rev. William Ezekiel and Willie Mae Summey Nesbitt. She was a member of Household of Faith Church of God in Christ. She became known for her faithfulness to God-Family- Church, for her cooking, yard sales and love for people She was united in marriage to the late Jack Smith and also preceded in death by grandson, Aston L. Smith, sisters, Edna Nesbitt Allman, Ruth Diane Nesbitt, Clara Mae Sullivan, and Ellen Nesbitt White, brothers, William D. Nesbitt, Charles Nesbitt and Joe Summey.
Left to cherish and remember her, children, Cynthia(Labron) Carter of Cleveland, TN., Kent( Sheree) Smith of Conway, SC, Brian(Sonya) Smith of Knoxville, TN., Cassandra(Ferron) Broomfield of King George, Va., and Jack Jr. (Heather) Smith of Sarasota, Florida. Twenty grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren, and brother Ray Nesbitt. Many other relatives and dear friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home with Superintendent Clifton Braden officiating. The body will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Cemetery. Services of loving memory entrusted to M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home- Cleveland, TN.
