Juan Richard Lewis, age 70 of Woodstock, Georgia passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023 at his residence.
Mr. Lewis was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he graduated from Ottawa High School and received his B.S. degree from Grand Valley State University. Upon graduating, he served two years in the United States Air Force. From there, he had a very successful career as a golden glove amateur boxer where he won two heavyweight championships. Mr. Lewis was a software developer and was employed with T-Mobile for 20 plus years, before retiring from there.
He is preceded in death by his parents William Andrews and Elonora Rimmer, brother James Phillips and sister Juanita E. Clark.
Juan is survived by his wife Judith Diane Lewis and their son Todd (Angela) Glover of Power Spring, GA. He is also survived by his daughter Margo (Carlton) Howard of Indianapolis.
Other surviving family members include his grandchildren, Shannie (TJ) Blackwell, Givonne (Bryce) Arnold, Kanova Mitchell, Christian Mitchell, C.R. Glover and Deija Glover of Dalton, GA.
Other grandchildren include Alana, Jazmyn, and Loralye Howard of Indianapolis.
Two brothers and a sister, John Lewis, Ernest Rimmer, Judy Rimmer Hollinquist of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Juan also leaves behind 13 great grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives including nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home-Cleveland TN., with Rev. Sylvia Dunn officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until 2:00pm . Interment will follow the service at Old Salem Cemetery in Etowah, TN.
