Joseph (BoJack) Armstrong, 92 of Etowah made his heavenly transition on Tuesday morning, April 24, 2018, at the Madisonville Health and Rehab Center. He was a member of Star Bethel Baptist Church of Etowah. Joseph was the son of the late Charlie and Donnie Mae Armstrong. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Annie Mae Boyd, Charlene Scruggs, and Elizabeth Moss. Joseph was retired from ALCOA after about 50 years. Joseph began work as a mere teenager in Oak Ridge when the plants were being built there during the war.

He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Rosalee Douglas Armstrong, Antwan Kennedy whom they raised as their son and his daughters Tamia and Naomi Kennedy, his sisters Louise Carden, Mary Nell Douglas, Rosalee Colbert and Christine Lowary, brother-in-law, Billy Moss, his faithful caring and loving niece/caregiver, Mary Frances Williams, special niece Wanda (Allen) McCroskey all of Etowah; special nephew John (Ann) Boyd of Riceville, and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 30 , at 1 pm at M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home in Athens, TN., Rev. James Parris officiating. The family will receive friends one hour  prior to the service from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m.. Visitation by friends will begin after 1 pm on Sunday, at the funeral home.
