Jessie Carolyn Mackey

Jessie Carolyn Mackey age 80 passed Sunday December 11, 2022 at a health care facility in Nashville, TN. She was a former resident of Etowah, TN and worked many years in the hotel industry as a general maintenance worker. Carolyn loved music and being with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents Edith Deed and John Harpr, sons, Kimmey Harper, Leandrick White and brother John Harper Jr., sister, Sharon Scudder, and grandson, Eric Harper.

Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Darlene (Ray ) Shelton, Tonya ( Anthony) Smith, Latasha(Bernard) Walker. Sons,, Joe(Virginia) Harper, Humpy, Van (Laverna) Harper, Parvin, Robert(Nish) Kyle. Devoted sisters, Luella White, Linda Benton, Wanda(Calvin) Thompson, Kennetha(David) Swinton, Karen( Ivan) Dragg. Grandchildren, Kenny(Christiane) Harper, Jessica, Jeminta (Henry), Marissa, Takosha, Coffe, N’Dah, Van(Star) Harper, Enriquez A’yah, Antonio, Joe Harper, Lakeysia(Cali) Harper, Nicole, EJ, Erica, Ray Jr. and John and a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and friends, Nathan Wykle, Teady Goins, Liz Mills, Zulenia Moultry, Nedria Goins, Latasha King , Jim(Ann) Abbott and the Star Bethel Church family

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home – Athens, TN, with Rev. Vant Hardaway officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Hammonds Cemetery in Athens, TN.
