Jesse James Anthony, Jr.

Jesse James Anthony, Jr., 74, of Louisville, KY, passed away on September 2, 2023, surrounded by his family at his home. He was a member of Mosaic United Methodist Church, were he served as the United Methodist Men President, Trustee and Clout. Jesse served his country in the US Navy and retired after 20 years. He was formally employed by Jefferson County Garage and Yellow Cab Company. Jesse was a avid fisherman and hunter.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, BrandieLynn Anthony; parents, Jesse and Corine Anthony and brothers, Robert Anthony and Joseph Anthony.

Jesse leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 39 years, Donna Anthony; sons, Jesse James Anthony, III, and Al (Keri) Garcia; daughter, Shirley (Jeff) Garcia-Murphy; grandchildren, Destinee Garcia, Dylan Garcia, Tyler (Summer) Garcia, Shelbee Garcia and Remington Murphy; great-granddaughter, Isabella Garcia; sisters, Gloria Anthony and Rhoda Anthony; nephew, Michael (Rachel) Anthony; niece, Rhonda (Roderick) McCleary and extended family and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 1pm-8pm. A celebration of Jesse's life will be Monday, September 11, 2023, beginning at 11am at the funeral home.

Jesse will be laid to rest with his daughter, BrandieLynn at Bethany Cemetery, 10917 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, with military honors.
