Janice Marie Phillips-Ware, age 66 of Cleveland, TN. died December 16, 2019 at her residence. She was formerly employed by Hardwick Clothing, where she work for twenty-three years. She was a member of Watson Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Charleston, TN., serving on the pastor’s aide board and in the choir.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, James Austin and Jean Phillips, grandparents, Herbert and Shelly McCleary and Alice Phillips, and husband Robert Ware.
Survivors include, one daughter, Jocelyn King of Cleveland, TN., one son, Adrean (Stacy Claybough) King of Calhoun, TN. Five grandchildren, Jalen King, Cantrell Ware, Lyric Burns Grayless, Jordan Barnes and Deacon King. Five sisters, Helen Armstrong, Linda Greathouse, and Brenda Greathouse all of Cleveland, TN., Jeanine Davis(Lendell ) of Chattanooga, TN., and Judy Berry of Charleston, TN. Four aunts, Marie Phillips, Dorothy Phillips, Anna Belle Phillips, and Beatrice McCleary. Two uncles, Sherman McCleary, and Fredrick McCleary and a host of other relatives and friends. Special friend, Linda Kimpson. Great-grandchildren, Braylon King, Malaysia Williams, Carter Grayless. Three stepchildren, Robert Ware Jr. Robert Ware II and Tonya Ware.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cleveland, Tennessee with Rev. Joseph Holmes officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Visitation by friends will begin after1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Internment will be Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
