Janet Irene Pettaway age 56 of Murfreesboro, TN gained her wings on Sunday October 4th, 2020. She is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Pettaway, Jr.,  father, Vernon Williams, Sr. and brothers, Jerry and Cornell Williams. Maternal grandparents, Joe and Irene Blair, paternal grandparents, Silas and Orpha Mae Williams and sister-in-law Nichole Pettaway-Lebeaux.

She was employed at Saks Fifth Avenue Distribution Center where she was beloved by her co-workers. She also loved spending quality time with her two children and four grandchildren " the fantastic four". She also enjoyed having nightly phone calls with her Mom to hear her pray and tell her "I’ll talk to you tomorrow, if it's the Lord's will."

Survivors include her loving mother, Willa Dean Blair Williams of Cleveland, TN. Beloved son, Curtis Pettaway III of Cleveland, TN and beloved daughter, Shiesha Pettaway (Gary Jackson) of Murfreesboro, TN.  Four grandchildren, Jairus, Xavier and Ja'Nyah Pettaway all of Cleveland, TN and Shyliah Jackson of Murfreesboro, TN. One sister, Outreach Evangelist Tona Williams of Cleveland, TN and two brothers, Vernon Jr. and Bill Williams both of Cleveland, TN. Father-in-law, Curtis Pettaway, Sr. and three brother-in-law's Paul, Dorian and Markius Pettaway of Chattanooga, TN. Three special nephews, LeVar, Solomon(Kyeshia) and Abdul Williams. One aunt, Dana Hurst of Cheektowaga, NY, three great-nieces,LaKasha, Bailee, and Zoe Williams, two great-nephews, Zadarius and Andrew Williams, several dear cousins, friends and co-workers.

Janet Pettaway will lie in state Sunday, October 11th, 2020 with a walk through visitation and social distancing ask to be observed from 12 noon until 7:00 pm at M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home- Cleveland, TN.

Funeral services will be held Monday October 12th, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home- Chapel with Outreach Evangelist Tona Williams officiating and Minister Solomon Williams delivering the eulogy.  The family is requesting that everyone observe social distancing at all times, and they will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service at the funeral home and observe a walk through visitation from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Services will conclude with interment at Fort Hill cemetery.

M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home will continue to be in compliance with COVID-19, mask are required, and we will monitor for social distancing.
