Jana Scruggs

Jana Elizabeth King Scruggs, age 65, passed away at a Chattanooga, TN hospital. She attended Hillcrest Church in Etowah, TN.

Jana was a graduate of McMinn High School and Tennessee Wesleyan University with a B.S. degree in Physical Education. She was employed as a welder at Johnson Control. Jana loved to exercise and spend quality time with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Walter Lee King and Frances Long King.

Survivors include two sons, Courtney (Somer) Scruggs of Johnson City, TN., and Lynn Scruggs of Athens, TN. Nine grandchildren, Ian, Camron, Kaylen, Emrie, Tayla, Mercedes, Arayln, Millie and Zoe. Two great-grandchildren, Cree and Tia.

Two sisters, Lois (Robert) Cobb of Etowah, TN., and Angela King of Athens, TN. Two brothers, Walter King and Edgar (Marie) King both of Athens, TN. Eleven nieces, and nephews, several great-nieces, and nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home – Athens. with pastor Zach Davis officiating. The family will receive friends two hours before the service at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon., and Interment will follow the service at Hammonds Cemetery.
