James Mcdermott, Jr.

James Edward McDermott Jr, age 60 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 15, 2022. James resided in Clarksville, TN and was employed at Shoney’s as a cook and a local Clarksville grocery store as a stocker and maintenance worker.

He is preceded in death by his parents James E. McDermott Sr., and Emma Sue McDermott, a sister, Lisa Newsom, three brothers, Ronnie Lee McDermott, William Roy McDermott, and Steven McDermott, aunts, Odessa Jones, Elizabeth Collier, and Helen Sue Edmonds, uncles, Leuty McDermott, and Erbie McDermott.

He is survived by three sisters, Effie King, Rubenia Ann Moore and Michelle Wade, and two brothers, Bryant McDermott and Cliff Bailey. One step-son, Rusty Dyer. Two uncles, Kenneth McDermott,and Webster McDermott. One aunt, Alice Oliver, and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be Sunday, January 23, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home – Athens, TN, with minister Sherry Witt-Farmer officiating. There will be a walk through visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to service at the funeral home and everyone is ask to be in observance of COVID19 guidelines of social distancing and wearing a mask.
