James (Jimmy Ed) Edward Martin, 72, passed away on June 22, 2024. A lifelong resident of Athens, Tennessee, Jimmy Ed graduated from McMinn County High School and went on to receive his bachelor's degree from Tennessee State University. He soon thereafter became a master electrician working with TVA and a loyal member of IBEW Local 175 Union. He was a faithful member and servant at Light of Life Faith Ministries International for over 30 years where he served as a Deacon under the leadership of Dr. Harold McCowan. Jimmy Ed LOVED his family and friends. He enjoyed supporting his grandchildren in all of their activities, fellowshipping with friends, and discussing all things construction.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James “Daddy Jimmy” and Juanita “Momma Nita” Martin; son, James “Jamey” Martin and great-granddaughters, Arianna Martin and Alaia Dickinson.

Jimmy Ed is survived by his wife, Sharon Martin, daughter, Krishna (Reginald) Andrews, son, Eric (Tabitha) Martin, daughter-in-law, Stacy Martin, sisters, Janice (Delbert) Horton and Greta (Stanley) Hamby; grandchildren, Terrell (Niala) Martin, Jaylon (Kennedy) Martin, Asha Martin, Dylan Andrews, Camden Andrews, Bryson Andrews, Yasmin Martin, Antonio Medrano, Zacharias Nelson, Zakia Nelson, Armani Ball and many other close and extended family members and friends.

Visitation with family will be Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Light of Life Faith Ministries International in Athens, Tennessee, with the service to follow beginning at 2:30 p.m. with Dr. Harold McCowan delivering the eulogy.
