Herman Augusta Arnwine age 75 passed Thursday, February 22, 2024 at his home in Athens, TN. Herman was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Calhoun, TN where he served as a deacon there. He loved watching car racing and wrestling on TV, fishing, and listening to music. Herman served in the United States army as an infantryman in the Korean Conflict.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Augustine Arnwine and Carrie Mae Caves Arnwine, son Rodney Arnwine, brother Robert ‘Hawk’ Arnwine, sisters, Lelia Renfro, Almeda Goodner, and Zelda Mae Curtis.
Survivors include devoted sisters, Bonnita Smith, Joyce Hunter, Gloria Arnwine, and Marilyn (Thomas) Cates. Children, Graylon Arnwine, Shannon Arnwine, and Crystal Cox of Dallas, TX. Grandchildren,Charday Harbour, Asia Ellison, Kaiden Arnwine,Mikaela Skiba, Emmerich Arnwine, Jehron Cox, Starr (Arony) Munoz, and great-grandchildren Alabama and Amia Munoz. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 1, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home – Athens, TN with Rev. Charlie Hunter Jr. officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 am. Interment will be Monday, March 4, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
