As the world evolves with each passing year and our lives transition day by day, Henry now rests in the loving embrace of the Master, enveloped in eternal mercy and glory.

Henry William “Hankie” McDaniel, age 60, of Athens, TN. On May 14, 2024, he peacefully closed his eyes on earth to awaken at the pearly gates of Heaven. He was a cherished husband, devoted father, beloved brother, uncle, and friend. Henry had a passion for gaming and held a special love for the Cleveland Browns. He was also a respected member of the esteemed brotherhood of Phi Beta Sigma. For 18 years, he dedicated his service to Bridgestone Firestone before medically retiring. He served 4 years in the Army where he received an Army Service Ribbon, Marksmanship Badge, and Sharpshooter badge. He also served as a police officer in East Cleveland, OH.

Henry was a natural at making acquaintances. He always wore a wide smile and brought joy to his friends and family whenever he was around. He was a steadfast, structured, and resolute man. He always encouraged his children and grandchildren, as well as reminded them to “Always be who you are and never let anyone change you.”

His commitment to his family was unwavering. Whether it was providing for their needs, offering emotional support, or making sacrifices for their well-being, he poured his heart and soul into ensuring they were well taken care of. It wasn’t just a duty for him; it was a deep-seated devotion that drove his every action.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Kathleen McDaniel, his grandparents, Henry and Ada Chisholm, and his father-in-law, Buddy J Sullivan.

Henry leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of his beloved wife, Shana McDaniel of Athens, TN; daughter, Amy L Arnwine of Atlanta, GA; sons, Brandon J (Amanda) McDaniel of Toronto, OH; Nahshon Arnwine of Smyrna, TN; Jake (Brittney) Kibodeaux of Madisonville, TN; and Joseph Kibodeaux of Athens, TN; bonus daughter/granddaughter, Ayanna Kibodeaux of Athens, TN; his sister, Kimberly (Ronald) Jackson of Maple Heights, OH; and his grandchildren: Chloe, Synaii, Hayden, Kennedy, Demetric, Bella, Ilee-Ana, Kiyanna, Kalina, Chase, Zion, Zaylen, Ariyah, Ajahnae, Sylvie, and Zyaire. Also, remembered by his mother-in-law, Anna L Sullivan, brother-in-law Keith Kibodeaux and bonus aunts, Charlotte White, Carla Davis, and Amy McCowan of Athens, TN. Bonus Daughters Aviar Robinson of Hampton, VA; Andrea Boiser of Atlanta, GA; and Ashley Carpenter of Smyrna, TN.
