Glenn Howard Porter , “Lil Bink ”,age 82  went home to be with the Lord on September 23, 2018 in a local Athens, TN hospital.

He was born May 11, 1936 in Meigs County, Tn. He was a graduate of Cook High School and was his high school football team’s running back. He served his county in the United States Air Force and attended two different colleges. He loved sports, especially football, playing cards, and was the “The Best” at dominos!, and spending time with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by hos parents Earnest and Mammie Bowerman Porter, two brothers, Clarence Porter and Julius Porter, six sisters, Patricia ‘Trish’ Arnold, Annette Porter, Ollie ‘Virginia’ Collier, Eula Dean Blair, Juanita Locke, and Eva Keith.

He leaves to cherish his memory a special niece, Tomika Scudder (Jamall), two special nephews, Marvel (Leslie) Locke, and Trey(Chastity) Locke. Special friends, Jimbo and Billy Simpson, and Paula Brown, he also had a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Leuty McDermott officiating. Interment will follow at Hammonds Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral at the funeral home. Services of loving memory entrusted to M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home- Athens, TN.
