George L. Buchanan passed away on March 21, 2023 at a Rehab Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was a lifelong resident of McMinn County. George is proceeded in death by his father and mother James A. Buchanan Sr and and Mary L. Buchanan, his brothers: Robert Bradley, James K. Buchanan, James A. Buchanan Jr, Sisters, Darlene Brewster, Patricia Alexander, Dorothy Buchanan and infant brother and sister and step-daughter .
George is survived by his wife Ann Buchanan, son George L. Buchanan, Jr, daughter Annette Sensibaugh, Margaret Wilcox, Meredith Womac , brother Luther S. Buchanan, sisters Mary S. Buchanan of Athens, Cecil (Dewey) Hurst of Cleveland, TN, Arlene B. Buchanan of Knoxville, TN, Olivia L. Noland of North Little Rock, AR, an uncle Robert K. (Sara Ann) Buchanan of Athens, TN and hosts grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Hammonds Cemetery in Athens, Tennessee with Rev. Chris Eady delivering words of comfort.
