Gaylia R. Scott age 66, born in Cleveland, Tn., daughter of the late Ray and Virginia Scott, departed this life on December 2, 2018 in Dallas, Texas, where she lived for the past 40 years.

Gaylia graduated from Cleveland High School and attended dental assistant school in Atlanta, Ga. She loved people and working with children. She also enjoyed collecting antiques and collectibles.

She is preceded in death by her grandmothers, Mrs. Molly Perkins Hinton, and Mrs. Carrie King Scott, her sister, Marion Scott, aunts, Fannie Purvis, and Gertrude Branner, uncles, Roy Perkins, Paul Perkins, Clarence Scott and Roy Scott, and a special friend Dorsey Bowman.

Gaylia leaves to cherish her memory, three brothers, Raymond(Charlotte) Scott, Randall(Maxine) Scott all of Cleveland, TN., and Roderick(Phyllis) Scott of Olive Branch, MS. Six nieces, Catrina Scott, Raven Scott and Danielle(Ryan) Ware all of Cleveland, TN, Kelley Johnson of Chattanooga, TN., and Rhatisha(Michael)Robinson of Aubery, Tx., and one special, devoted and caring niece, Alisha Leonard of Dallas, Tx. Four nephews, Jermaine and Jamarr Scott of Cleveland, TN., Rondell Scott of Chattanooga, TN., and Avery (Debra) Scott of Newport, TN., and a host of cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m until 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home, Cleveland, TN.  Graveside services will be Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at St Elmo Church cemetery in Georgetown, TN with Rev. Edwards Robinson Sr., and Rev. Martha Tibbs officiating.
