Freddie Upton

Freddie Nolia Upton age 86 of Sweetwater, TN transitioned into her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. She was born on May 4, 1935 in Baileyton,TN. She was an active and faithful member of Mt. Cumberland Presbyterian Church in the Piney Community ; where she was also an usher and Mother of the Church. Known as everyone's "Aunt Fred" she was known for her spunky and caring personality and loved everyone she met. She was employed at Sweetwater Hospital Association where she served for many years and eventually retired.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Howard Upton, Mother Nellie and Father Billy Rogers, as well as her sisters Mary Lee Miller, Margaret Lane, AnnieMae Miller, Ruth Miller, Bertha Miller, Octavia Dorsey, Maddie Wells, and three brothers Jack, Lynn and Hal Rogers and best friend Anna Shields.

Left to cherish her memory: Daughter Holly Hicks (Travis) of Sweetwater, TN, Grandaughter Maryica Upton and Grandson Drew Hicks both of Sweetwater, TN. Special Nephew James Lane (Roxie) of Sweetwater, TN., Special  Nieces Helen Knuckles of Greenville, TN., Martha "Mott" Smith of Athens, TN., and Patricia Patton (Edgar) of Chattanooga, TN., as well as a host of other nieces and nephews.

Home going celebration services will be Monday, February 28, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home – Athens, TN., with Rev. Perry Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Memorial Park. There will be a walk-through visitation from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In compliance with Covid-19 mask are require and social distancing will be observed.
