Ford Austin Billingsley

Ford Austin Billingsley Jr. age 68 passed away at his home in Sweetwater, TN., July 3, 2019. He was a graduate of High Point High School in Sweetwater, TN and a retired Gunnery Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp., where he received many medals and accommodations. He also worked after retirement in many job capacities in and around the Sweetwater, TN area. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ford Austin Billingsley Sr. and Josephine Upton Billingsley and sisters, Emma Naomi Robinson, and Mattie Yvonne Womble. He was known for his unselfishness with his time and willingness to help others. A loving father who also enjoyed basketball, and working on cars.

Survivors include, his two children, Ford Austin Billingsley III of Baldwin Park, Calif, and Angela Billingsley of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. Two grandchildren, Jaylah Monet Moering, and Amya Marie Stith. Special devoted caretaker nephew, Rodney Branch of Sweetwater, TN. Loving nieces, Alydia D. Golson, Monica C.W. Smack, and Nicole (Kevin) Davis. Brother-in-law Jeffery Allen Womble of Washington, DC., and ex-wife Debbie Billingsley of Irvine, Calif. Many cousins, great nieces, and great nephews and many, many friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home in Athens, TN. Interment will follow at East Tennessee Veteran Cemetery in Knoxville, TN.
