Eric Scott Scruggs age 54 formerly of Athens, TN., died Sunday, January 24, 2021 in a local Sweetwater, TN., hospital. He worked in various capacities in and around the McMinn county area and for the Service Master company. He is preceded in death by his mother Lexie Scruggs, brother, Rev. Jeffrey Scruggs, sister-in-law Tracy Scruggs and sister Rhonda Scruggs, his uncle, Eugene Scruggs, and aunts, Imogene Looney, Elizabeth Harris, Jessie Suber, and Mamie Sneed, nephew, Alvin Parks. Eric’s father, Rev. Caggie C. Scruggs passed away the following day.
Survivors include his sister, Shelia Scruggs and (Anthony McMahan) of Cleveland, TN., and his two daughters, Andrea Johnson and Lexis Scruggs both of Athens, TN. Aunts, Virginia Wynn of Knoxville, TN., Vyetta(Bill) Moore of Knoxville, TN., Judy Prigmore of Cleveland, TN., uncles, Larry Moore of Knoxville, TN., and James Moore of Ohio. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Grave side memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Lanetown Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Harris officiating.
