Emilio Contreras

Emilio Edward ‘Ed’ Contreras age 79 passed away at his home Wednesday, January 8, 2025 in Athens, Tennessee. Born in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, he made Athens, TN his lifelong home, where he worked for Case Enterprise as a truck mechanic.

Ed is preceeded in death by his wife of 41 years Mary Leona Moore Contreras, his parents Emilio Basel Contreras and Faustina Pizarr Contreras, brother Miguel Contreras, and sister Carmen Contreras.

Survivors include his five children, Elaine( Edward) Smith of Sweetwater, TN, Audrey Contreras of Athens, TN, Emilio Contreras Jr. of Chattanooga, TN., Mary Contreras of Oregan, and Felene(Ricky Joe) Ginoe of Sweetwater, TN. Twenty-one grandchildren, two brothers, Benny Contreras, and Hosea Contreras, and sister Betsy Contreras. Brother and sister-in-law, Victor Felix, and Victoria Felix. Many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home – Athens, TN.
