Eloise Parris Moore

Eloise Parris Moore age 83 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 25, 2024 in a Knoxville, TN hospital.

She was a faithful member of Mt. Olive A.M.E. Zion Church where she enjoyed serving diligently as an usher, class leader, and helping on the kitchen committee. She attended Cook High School Class of 1957 in Athens, TN and was a member of the basketball team. She was also a member of Victory Chapel Order of The Eastern Star Chapter #192.

Eloise was known for being an unselfish caregiver to so many in her community. She was very devoted to her church family, neighbors, friends, and even strangers that would ask for help. She worked at First Etowah HeadStart, she was a nurse’s aid at Woods hospital and Etowah Senior Center.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Evelyn Carlock Parris and Thomas ‘TG’ Parris. Two brothers, Troy Parris, and George ‘GT’ Parris.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Torri Donnella Ervin, and Sonya Evalena McCroskey( Derrick Jones) all of Etowah, TN., and Thomasena Rosetta Arnwine( Derrick McDermott) of Cleveland, TN.. Two sisters, Wilma Odessa(James) Ross of San Antonio, Texas and Mary Elizabeth Drake of Atlanta, Ga, and one brother, William O’Dell ( Jacqueline) Parris of Cleveland, Ohio. Sister-in-law Gail Parris of Charleston, TN

One grandson, James ‘Isaac’ McGhee, three granddaughters, Raven Ervin, Jakaylah Arnwine, and Atazia Jones, and one great-granddaughter, Cy’Niyah Ervin, and one bonus daughter, Connie McDermott and special friends Alice ‘Shuley’ Oliver, Fay Forgety, Sharon Wilson, Linda Caldwell, and Carolyn ‘ Neet’ McCroskey, special cousins Christine Lowery, Louella White, Kim Parris, Brenda Jones, Lavenda Jones, Elvenda White. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and many more dear friends.

Home going Celebration service will be Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive A.M.E. Zion Church with pastor Rev. Benjamin Jackson Jr. officiating. The family will receive friend one hour before the service at the church from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the follow the service at New Zion Cemetery in Etowah, TN.
