Ella Louise “Lucy” Mccleary

Ella Louise (Lucy) McCleary age 77 was born in Tate, Ga to the late Martin & Barnell Parris. Lucy was called home by the Lord on Monday January 27, 2020. She was proceeded in death by her parents and brother Martin Parris of Etowah.

Lucy graduated from Cook High School in Athens, TN. She was employed by Duracell over 38 years as well as Cleveland City Schools for 10 years. She was devoted mother and Christian who gave her life to the lord at a early age. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with active roles in the choir, usher board, kitchen ministry, harvest day, Loudon District Baptist Association, and other duties she volunteered for. She also did the Summer Feeding Program to help in the community. Lucy loved to travel and spend time with her family. She will be greatly missed.

She leaves to cherish her three children, Richard McCleary Jr, Jeffery Keith (Esther)McCleary, and Lorraine (Randy) Isom of Cleveland. Two sisters, Shirley Neal of Athens, and Beverly Williams of Etowah, TN.  Three brothers, Pete (Jackie) Parris of Riceville, Frederick (Faye) Parris of Sweetwater, and Sherman Frederick McCleary of Charleston. Grandchildren Keenan Blair, Tony McCleary, Tichina Isom, Constance Isom of Cleveland, TN, Jakeithea McCleary of Chattanooga, and Keenan McCleary of Nashville, and seven great- grandchildren. One godchild Shantae Brown of Nashville.

Funeral services will be Sunday, February 2, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Cleveland, TN with pastor Rev. Edward S. Robinson Sr. delivering the eulogy and Rev. Mattie Benton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.Visitation by friends will begin on Saturday from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home
