Don Woods

Don Newcomb Woods, age 67, born on March 10, 1953 departed this life on December 25, 202 at his residence in Georgetown, Tennessee.

He was a member of the St. Elmo United Methodist Church in Georgetown, TN where he taught Sunday School.  He was an asset to his church and community.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand.  Sometimes he would cook for his nieces and nephews and feed others.  He was known for how strong he was and his skills when using a Power Saw.  Don never met a stranger and he will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard A. & Lillie B Woods Sr., brothers: Leonard Lee Woods, Marvin Taft Woods and Leonard A. Woods Jr.  Niece, Roselyn R. Runyons and Nephew, Spencer L. Woods.

He leaves to cherish his memories his sisters: Shirley Runyons of Cleveland, TN, Sylvia Woods and Sandra Westfield of Georgetown, TN and Jackie Woods of Smyrna, GA.  Brothers: Milton E. (Francine) Woods of Lexington, KY, Lowell B. Woods of Etowah, TN and Floyd Woods of Georgetown, TN.  Uncles, Booker T. (Elizabeth) Woods, Howard (Estella) Woods, Chancel (Mary) Woods of Georgetown, TN. His church family, a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors. Special friend and nephew Marvin Woods and friend David Piersaul Sr.

In observance of Covid-19 there will be a walk-through visitation on Thursday December 31, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the M. D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home-Cleveland, TN.

There will be a private family funeral service Saturday January 2, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of M. D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home.  Rev. Larry Woods and Rev.  Floyd Davis presiding.  Interment will follow at the Woods Cemetery in Meigs County, TN.
