In Loving Memory of Debbie Ann Thomas Donohoo

 October 11, 1965 – January 20, 2025

Debbie Ann Thomas Donohoo, age 59, of Cleveland, Tn, peacefully passed away on January 20, 2025. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, educator, and servant of God, Debbie leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and unwavering faith.

Born in Eufaula, Alabama, Debbie spent 28 years as a passionate and inspiring teacher, impacting countless lives through her work in the Hamilton County Department of Education. She was a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and a devoted servant leader in her community, volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters Inc. in Columbus, Georgia, and Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Her creativity and nurturing spirit were reflected in her love of sewing, cross-stitching, and gardening. As a faithful member of the Church of God Sanctified Inc., Debbie dedicated her life to living in alignment with God’s will.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Curtis Thomas; her grandparents, Frank and Susie Thomas; and Reverend Dr. J.J. and Eron Ivey. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Dwight Donohoo; her devoted daughters, Cheyenne Donohoo (Lujyin T) and Chenoa Donohoo (Larry J); and her cherished grandsons, Je’Amari Hughes and Mustafa Taylor.

She is also survived by her mother, Bertha Douglass, and stepfather, Fredrick Douglass; her sister, Daphne (Leevell) Dansby; her brother, Jaymes (Miriam) Harlan; her aunts, Louise Dawson, Annie Lois Dixson, Bessie Ivey, Tempie Ivey, and Annette Thomas; godmother, Irma Works; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.

A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held on February, 1st 2025 at 1:00 pm at Church of God Sanctified Inc. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church from 12:00- 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Fort Hill Cemetery

Her life was a testament to kindness, resilience, and faith. Debbie’s memory will forever be cherished by those who were blessed to know her.
