David Edward Dunn was reunited with his mother on February 15, 2022. He was born on September 22, 1969 to Ronald Dunn and the late Willa Dean Dunn. David graduated from Charleston High School, Class of 1987. He loved sports and was a baseball and basketball athlete in high school. His favorite sports teams included the Minnesota Vikings and Georgia Bulldogs. After high school, he joined the United States Army and served as a signal channel operator. His military achievements include an overseas service award and a national defense service award. He was honorably discharged after 3 years of service. David enjoyed cooking and attended DeVry University in Atlanta, Georgia where he participated in the Culinary Arts Program. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Christian; mother, Willa Dean Dunn; his maternal grandparents, Wadie Davis, Sr. and Jessie Davis; his paternal grandparents, Thomas Dunn and Thursia Dunn; and sister, Rhonda Renee Dunn.

Survivors include his children: Brandon Dunn of Anchorage, Alaska; David Edward Dunn II and Davion Dunn of Cleveland; grandson, Ja’Kari Dunn of Cleveland; father, Ronald Dunn of Cleveland; brother, Richard (Shannon) Dunn of Cleveland; sister, Sharon Wood of Burleson, TX; a dear and devoted friend who he often called Mother Debra; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, March  3, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home – Cleveland, TN., with Rev. Mark Pollard officiating and Minister Debra Smith as the eulogist.

There will be a walk-through visitation from 3:00 pm. To 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In compliance with Covid-19 masks are required and all are asked to practice social distancing. Interment will follow on Friday morning at 10:30 a.n. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested all donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
